Rigour and professionalism, essential in the financial world, are not enough to ensure the quality of a business. Without human dimension, without culture, without passion, the business would amount to nothing more than a simple accumulation of figures. Conscious of this reality, Fortis Assurances Luxembourg has for some time now been establishing a cultural corporate sponsorship programme. Bolstered by the European influence that it enjoys as the result of the distribution of its tax structuring tools, Fortis Assurances Luxembourg has taken advantage of the opportunity that this offers to play a role in enhancing the reputation of young artists. In this context, the photographs of Dominique Henry and the pictorial works of Nathalie Félix-Lefebvre illustrate some of the pages of this site. Natives of Belgium, these two artists have charmed the Company, and it wished to enrich its collection of part of their works.
Dominique Henry, who has a degree in Graphic Art – Typography – Photography from the Brussels Ecole de Recherches Graphiques, has been actively participating in numerous exhibitions taking place at an international level for more than 10 years now. In addition to this, she won the Beloeil Prix du Jury in 1994. She is now a freelance graphic artist, and photography still holds a special place in all her graphic projects.
Nathalie Félix-Lefebvre, who has a degree from the Brussels Académie des Beaux Arts – Graphic and advertising arts major – has been practising her art in a private workshop for several years now. She is an expressionist painter who likes to forge ahead and appreciates the richness to be found within creation: "Always looking to please, to make the most of materials, lights and colours, I need to move on from the exaggeration of minutiae to the abstraction of landscape with shimmering flowers..."
Fortis Assurance Luxembourg appreciates the sincerity and generosity of the works of these two artists, as much for the palette of colours used as for the subjects dealt with. Through their artistic inspiration, they communicate a fresh view of the world that surrounds us. These creations, which are tinged with originality, daring and modernism, have impressed us with their innovative nature.
